In light of the ongoing national conversations about racial justice and the renewed focus on diversity, this project honors the groundbreaking contributions of African Americans to space exploration. Amid the backdrop of the newly minted United States Space Force and America’s advancing space ambitions, these illustrations celebrate a legacy of courage and achievement. Much like mail traveling across distances, these astronauts journeyed from Earth into the cosmos, symbolizing progress, connection, and the spirit of exploration.
